Round 12 Team of the Week

Last round of the home and away season and some more outstanding performances through our senior (and junior) grades.

Here is the team for round 12:

Brett Morrison- The old foss was happy to be back in the 2's as his only score above 25 this season was against The Basin and he made the most of his chance making 99...yes another 99. Looks like Pops has created a few selection nightmares for Daine🤔

Andrew Potts- With the Div 4 batting award up for grabs Pottsy took the chance to get his name scratched out on the trophy making 64 and most importantly not out to get him over the line (and his side over the line) to finish 3rd. The 3rd XI Banter Bus takes another trip to Liberty Reserve this weekend where they narrowly lost the Grand Final last year.

Jay Wagner- One name to look out for in the future, has impressed this year as skipper of the 16's scoring his first ever ton in the juniors against Maznod as he also helped his side get over the line and jump into top spot with one game to go before finals.

Adam Wylde- The little whippet found himself opening on the weekend to get the 2's off to a flyer with Pops combining for a opening stand of 100. He contributed 34 of those and definitely stiff to get caught by an absolute screamer at cover. He also got an important run out on the 2nd last ball to keep the 2's home semi final hopes alive.

Bailey Deckert- B-Dog Slim was the 2nd centurion in the 16's on Saturday, combining with Jay to put on over 200 and also chiming in with a wicket. Another name to look out for in the future and is already a club favourite.

Josh Wylde- The Cannons skipper finds himself as a bowling all rounder in this week's team, “throwing down” 8 beautiful overs with figures of 2/7. Maybe he is a secret weapon to the 3's having the ultimate success.

Nav Singh- Probably the best number 9 the club has had, Navinder Singh 'us a song' dug the 1's out of a hole in the quest for a finals berth to help get the side to a competitive 164 with 38 of his own. Although it wasn’t enough :((

Daine Vernon- Had the figures of 7 overs 0/33 which probably doesn’t warrant selection in this side but it’s his 8th over which gets him a gig with the Bears needing 14 off 12 and with a noted big hitter in they were probably $1.05 favourites but a crucial double wicket maiden in the 39th over brought the 2's right back in it which was a skippers over if I’ve ever seen one.

Drew Withers- Ahhh Mr. Clutch, again his figures of 2/54 off 8 don’t sound really any good, but Dale Tickets produced an important over where he kept it to 12 and needed to keep it to 1 on the final ball and he delivered sending the batter's stumps cartwheeling! This helped seal a 2's home semi final against the same opposition. should be a cracker!

Adam Wild- The veteran gave his all in a last ditch push to sneak into the 4 but his 3/40 just wasn't quite enough to dismiss The Basin batsmen.

Nikhil de silva- A late call up saw DJ Central America into the 3's and coming on at first change bowled brilliantly with figures of 2/10 off 8 which restricted Monbulk to 9/99 off their 40. Maybe his performance will convince Pottsy to keep him for the semi final....

12th Man-
Jason Buljubasic- Somewhat a return to form from Jase who we all miss dearly who made 31 to get the 4's to a competitive 9/135. Let’s hope we see vintage Jase in the next couple of weeks entering finals.
