Ben McLean: Leading
the way in the 3rd XI at the top of the order. Notched up his eighth century for the club and looks a certainty to claim his second association
batting average. (No pressure).
Brett Morrison:
Lost his old mate before he had a chance to check in at Eildon Park and did the
majority of the scoring for the 2nd XI smashing his way to his
highest score at the club of 137 not out.
Deepak Puri: In a
real purple patch of form in the 4’s and we can only attribute this to his
absence from training since Christmas. Got the side off to a good start yet
again, puri genius...
Josh Curnow:
Crawled off his death bed to make his long awaited return and didn’t disappoint.
Slashed and nicked his way to his customary score of about 40 odd runs before
slashing one too many times. Took a wicket in his short spell and will be
better off for the run.
Josh Gregory:
Boof has found some form with the willow since the break and ironically it
seems the only thing slowing him down is his running between the wickets.
Callum O’Connor:
Haunted by the number 14 so far this season the young man came in to bat under
some pressure against the top side and cautiously made his way to his highest
score for the season which then included some breathtaking strokes towards the
end in a partnership of 157 with Morro.
Matt Young:
Enjoying his best season with the wood in the 1st XI so far this
season. Once again batting in the lower order rescued the side when in trouble
to post a decent score. Must be some friction with good mate and skipper Butch
as he struggles to make his way up the order.
Jason Buljubasic:
Managed to compose himself after an attack from a rainbow serpent over the
Australia Day weekend to churn out another half century in the 4’s. Seems to be
a hitting them well recently and will be looking to take that form into Milo
In2Cricket next season.
Ashley Thompson: Demanded
to take the new pill and after little resistance marked his 4 step run up and
was into it. Was a star with the ball in the 2nd XI taking two early
wickets before cleaning up the tail. Finished with superb figures of 4/27 from
11 overs.
Ashley Hawkes:
Slapped some late order runs with the rest of the tail in the 3’s to help set
up the mammoth total of 346. Opened the next week and was annoyed to only bowl
19 overs in a free scoring innings from the opposition where Ash finished with
3/81.
Nixon Adcock:
Given a chance to perform and he didn’t let his side down. Bowled magnificently
well with his full bag a tricks on display and was rewarded with an ultra-attacking
field. Picked up 3/12 off 8 overs in his best performance in the 2nd
XI.
12th Man:
Hayden Morrison: Demanded
to grab a spot in the team after his OK performance in the 3rd XI
and so he finds himself carrying the drinks. Will need to do a bit more if he
ever wants to find himself in this illustrious group of stars again!
