Tess MCG Bound

Ace Knox Gardens junior Tess Flintoff received an early Xmas present when her female pathway team East Metro U/18’s defeated Central Highlands Region (Ballarat) at Box Hill to advance to the state-wide final to be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday February 7th.  The 12 year is the youngest player in the tournament and was promoted to the higher age bracket by Regional Cricket Manager Di Day.      According to East Metro coach Tim Reid, the youngster is more than holding her own, batting in the No. 3 position scoring 43 which included a second wicket century partnership. She also took 2/14 from 4 over’s.

Tess is the sole FTGDCA representative in the team, however Coach Reid is a former Johnson Park player and his assistant is Ringwood Premier star Brendan Walsh formerly from the Lysterfield club.   The three were all smiles after confirming their MCG appointment.

We are all really proud of what Tess has achieved so far and wish her good luck in the final at the mighty MCG.

We will keep our supporters up to date with the rest of our rep cricketers in the junior carnivals throughout the summer holidays.
