Dream Team update
Posted by Ben McLean on Sunday, 2 Nov 2008 at 5:54pm
Youngy's XI has raced to the top of the ladder in this round of the Dream Team comp, after Luke Perryman choked on spoils of his huge lead from last round. Ryan Lepore pipped Rhys Marget by just 1 point in the Player of the Round, but Rhys takes a commanding lead on the players ladder, and was 2 runs away from the first 25 point bonus for hitting a ton. Corne Mostert also showed consistency with 69 points and 2nd place on the ladder. Simon Taylor polled beatifully despite a duck in his 1st innings, he took 5 wickets, a catch and 84 runs in the second dig, which is only worth half points. New player Ashley Thompson also showed some form with 89 points and will find his way into a few teams for the new round I imagine.

Since Youngy's team is on top of the ladder, we'll analyse his team to explain the points system.

In week 1 Matt selected 2 players Mark Dalton & Ryan Metherell that didn't play, therefore his 12th man came into play, Borgy.  In week 2 Matt added both David Hancock and Greg Paponkolaou, as Borgy had been activated as the 12th man and was playing a 2 day game, only David Hancock's points were counted to make up the 11 players.

Matt had Rhys Marget as skipper and therefore doubled his points to 236 points, and took the total to 594.
