Round 5 Team of the Week

Here's the team after the first 2 day game of the season

Rhys Marget- Not much needs to be said for the foss. Smashed a few boundaries on his way to another 50+ score but unable to convert it into a big one but got the 3s off to another flyer with 70 to set up an imposing score of 285 in the 3s

Lachie Stuckey- After some tight bowling from the Beavers early on and a big Friday night, Lachie did well to still

be at the crease and was rewarded with a fine 37 to set the platform for the 2s

Scott Christiansen- Another fine contribution from the old timer, opening the batting and making an important 35 while he was tidy with the ball taking 2/36 off 14

Jay Wagner- In what his old man had been heard saying “It was a scratchy 68” but in the scorebook it still says 68 and Jay-Z did a terrific job of rotating the strike for his team.

Adam Wylde- At the other end to Lachie, Adz took advantage of the decent start made by hitting a crisp 38 before spooning one straight to mid wicket before a middle order collapse by the 2s

Sam Bakker- A slimmer Sammy Bakker continued his amazing 4th XI form, this time making 41 after he took 3/20

off 13 which may have just got the 4s over the line

Adam Metherell- More commonly known for his right arm off spin, Crystal came to the crease with the 1s in a some trouble at 6/65 before he saved some embarrassment as he piled on 63 while also taking 1/61 from his 17 overs the week before

Todd Burley- In what was a tough day at the office for the 1s  where Knoxfield piled on the runs and they flowed quite easily, the big boy kept his end tight with great figures of 2/27 off 17

Anthony Jongen- Hard hitting nibby wasn’t hard hitting with the bat but literally hitting the Churches batsmen which abled him to secure his first ever 5fa with figures of 5/36 in a convincing 3s win

Drew Withers- 2nd game as skipper of the 2s and you would certainly know as he bowled himself from one end all day bar 9 overs with great figures of 4/68 off 28 to keep the side in the game and almost snatching the win from Lysterfield

Josh McGowan- A solid performance from Daine’s love child with  3/40 from his 13 allowing Nibby to attack and destroy batsmen’s stumps from the other end. Let’s hope we see King continue his fine form after his schoolies week on the Gold Coast
