It is with great pleasure that the Knox Gardens Cricket Club announce that Stephen Alderton will captain the 1^st XI in season 2013-14.

Stephen takes the position which was vacated by Wayne McInerney who did a great job in getting our firsts into 5^th position last year. Wayne is pursuing an opportunity presented to him by VFL club Casey Scorpions next year and commitment to both is unachievable.

On behalf of the committee and club I would like to thank Wayne for his efforts in getting the club where it is now, not only last year but years prior as well. I am sure we will see Wayne around the club regularly throughout the summer months as he keeps a close eye on the success he has helped create.

The club feels that Stephen was the logical replacement, given past success at BHRCA club Blackburn South and proven ability to work with and nurture the prodigious talent that the club has developed. Please join me in congratulating Stephen to the role.

Please be aware that preseason begins next Monday 4^th of August at Saxon Sports.

Captains for all other grades will be announced closer to the start of the season. If you are interested in captaining a side please contact me directly, KGCC is always wanting to develop young leaders so do not hesitate in letting us know.
