After what was again a great year by our young falcons, we are very proud to announce that three of our bright stars have been selected to play for Victoria in upcoming Australian Championships.
Eleven year old James Dekel who was a standout player in the F.T.G.D.C.A this season has been rewarded with a spot in the Victorian 12 and under squad in the School Sports Australia Cricket Championships.
James had an outstanding season only being dismissed once for the summer with a batting average of 250! He was also named player of the carnival in the U/12’s Keith Mitchell Shield.
Also playing for the Victorian 12 and under side is our very talented Tess Flintoff who will be playing along with the best girls in the state.
Tess has gone one step further than her older brother Zach who represented the F.T.G.D.C.A in this year’s Country Week. After performing very well in this seasons Victorian U/14 state championships it is a great reward for Tess and we know she will represent the club and the state very well.
The Club wishes James and Tess all the best for the Championships which will be held in Darwin from June 15-23.
The Club would also like to congratulate Ben Marget, a teammate of James, for his recent selection in the Victorian U/13’s squad for the Australian Indoor Cricket Junior Championships. Son of club life member and 1st XI premiership captain Rhys Marget, Ben has had a great year for the club and will no doubt be a very good cricketer for the club in years to come. We wish him well on his trip to South Australia and I’m sure we will hear every detail from father Rhys.
