It will be standing room only this Friday
night (Oct 18th @ 5.20pm) on the bottom oval when the cream of Knox
Gardens young talent goes on display.
The Knox Gardens CC has 2 teams in the Under 12 competition this season
and will go head to head in what promises to be the clash of the year.
The Black team, led by coach Peter Wagner,
is loaded with the best young talent in the competition. The Black’s are ably led
by superstar hat-trick taking 10yo all-rounder James Dekel, sons of guns Ben
Marget & Luke Plumridge, speedster Ishan Goonetilleke, and the boy with the
best name at the club….Banuka Rodrigo! (apologies to Sonny Kong and Minuka
Fernando)
What the Red team lacks in experience they
make up in enthusiasm, determination and passion. When approached for a comment
coach Tim Flintoff said “all the kids have been off the red cordial since May
and our high altitude sessions on the top oval show how keen they are”. The Red
team is led by young quick Daniel Strapp, the girl with the best looping leggies
in the competition Tess Flintoff, the smiling assassin Dinal Kirinde and wily
off-spinner Ryan Isherwood.
So
come down, have a sausage and a drink to support the future stars of our great
club! |
