Congratulations to Brendan Blizzard who won the Division 4 Association batting average for Season 2006/2007.  Brendan amassed 368 runs @ 61.33 in just 7 innings.

His season got off to a flyer, scoring an incredible 208* in Round 1 vs Knoxfield.  Brendans teammates watched in awe as he peppered the boundry all around the ground (mostly over cow corner, the rest were mis-hits). It was an awesome move from cricketing veteran, and stand-in captain Ray Borg, to open the batting with Brendan, given he had done no pre-season training at all! Brendans 208 runs that day contributed to the team score of 279 off just 38 overs.

Not surprisingly Brendan failed to better his Round 1 efforts, but played consistently well throughout the season, even capturing 2 games in the 1st XI.  His other significant scores for the season were 52 vs Sth Belgrave, 44 vs Monbulk & 39 vs Eildon Park.  Another feature of 06/07 for Brendan was his outstanding fielding, he saved many runs in the covers region and took some spectacular catches close to the bat.  Let's not mention his bowling.

Brendan's season culminated with a premiership in Division 4, scoring a quick fire 24 in the Semi-Final and an even quicker 2 in the Grand Final.

Other Knox Gardens senior players to be nominated for association averages were 1st XI vice captain Adam Wild for taking 31 Wickets @ 12.1 (162.2 Overs) and 4th XI Captain Mark Hancock for taking 23 Wickets @ 20.35 (119 Overs).
