Round 11 Senior Teams

The 1st XI had a great win last week against Monbulk, defending just 128 against the 4th placed side, a strong bowling effort from Adam Wild with 6/35 was enough to get us home. Jarrod Butcher purchased some wickets with his leg spinenrs taking 2/22, whilst Simon Grasser took 0/8 from 10.  Wayne McInerney is back in good nick, with 38 & 23* and will look for 3 figures at a faster Rowville this week.  Josh Gregory also struck them well with 26 batting at 4 and snaffled 3 behind the timber.  With the skipper out of the side, Adam Wild will take the reigns, and I think we'd better get some ice ready for that shoulder of his.

The 2's were outgunned by Monbulk who had them 3/2 after 1.4 overs, from there though there was little chance of repeating the 8/300 from the week before, however Matt van Lith scored a rapid 47 and with Ben McLean 34 got the side to 149.  Not enough on the true deck at KGCC and Monbulk had some early luck and passed us just 3 wickets down.

The 3's got smashed outright by Johnson Park.  Braet Adams spent most of the game looking for his team mates, he got 18 & 33 and took 3/88 and was the standout player.

The 4's were valiant chasing Mountain Gates score 278.  Anthony Howes was outstannding with the ball taking 5/46, and Brad Martin was great with 3/46.  Adrian Kennedy got the team off to a flyer with 49, but wickets fell consistently through the innings and too much work was left for the tail with the final score reading 216.  Rob Cottle 33 and Dylan Wylde 30 were solid and their team mates should wok with them this game to finish off the season.  54 extras also was a big contributer.

The 5ths must keep winning to make finals, they are 5th on the ladder and with 3 games to go, they play 3 teams above them on the ladder.  In the last 2 rounds they ran out of puff against a strong Johnson Park side, and won a nailbiter against Eildon Park.  Good performers were Dale Roper with 30 & 50* & 3/47 and Simon Wilkinson with 46 & 4/40 and Tristan Wilkinson chipped in with a 30.

This weekend the 1's & 2's take on Rowville, and the 1's must win to keep the chance of staying in KTC next season.

Other notices around the place are that the tickets are out $1500 cash draw, each player must sell 2 tickets each, it's not that hard, the club has not had that many functions this season, so it's your chance to financially support the club, and have a pretty good chance of winning.

Also some people STILL have not paid their subs, please get that sorted out this week, looks like we might have to get Travvy to knock on your door.

Best of luck to all sides.
