On Tuesday morning (11/11/08) a longtime supporter of the Knox Gardens Cricket Club, mother to Fiona Taylor and Grand mother of Richard and his sisters passed away.
Helen was a vibrant wonderful lady who always had a soft spot for the club and supported the players for many years by visiting matches and often was found slaving away in the kitchen making afternoon teas and cleaning up after our players. Helen always made other clubs feel welcome and had a good sense of humour.
Helen is a past winner of the KGCC Best Clubperson award.
The Knox Gardens Cricket Club are deeply saddened by this News and obviously pass on our sincere and warm support for Fiona, Richard and all of the Taylor family.
As a mark of respect all Junior Teams and Senior Teams competing this weekend will be wearing black arm bands on their left arm in Helen's memory. This mark of respect will start on Friday night and includes Coaches at Miloand all fixtured matches on Friday, Saturday morning and afternoon.
David Hancock will be responsible for all people involved in In2Cricket, Andrew Hawkes and Tim Flintoff for Friday night and Saturday Juniors and Rhys Marget will be coordinating the Senior teams.
As President I would ask that all coaches take time to ensure all players understand the significance of our show of respect. Obviously for anyone who comes in contact with Richard or Fiona your support and well wishes would be appreciated. The club will post Funeral details on the club website once they are known.
