My Best Work - Wayne McInerney
Posted by Ben McLean on Wednesday, 24 Feb 2010 at 8:17pm
A fashionably late ton from Wayne McInerney got Knox Gardens over the line against Rowville. His innings of 145 in the score of 3/229 was his second for the season and oozed class, and came to an end via a direct hit runout. "His cover drives were delightful to watch" said skipper Adam Wild, whilst opening batsman Mark Dalton was in awe of the concentration that Wayne showed throughout his innings. Josh Gregory was lost for words. Wayne described his innings as his best work to date.

Despite this ton taking Wayne to 518 runs for the season he's only just a shade ahead of Mark Dalton in the batting averages. Fighting it out at 37.00 & 36.11 the two are hard to separate.

Ross Dancey also played a major role in the victory taking 5/49 to restrict Rowville to 182 and takes his tally to 22 for the season.

Adam Wild still leads the comp in wickets but will have to get some cheap ones this weekend against St Johns in order to get the comp averages.

A reminder to all that the Rhys Marget Medal Vote count night is this Saturday night, and begs the question "Who will take home Rhys tonight?"
