About the Falcons...
| The Knox Gardens Cricket Club is a family club. Our environment welcomes all and we pride ourselves on our very inclusive, welcoming culture. All players are treated equally and socially the club is a fantastic place to be. Our facilities, Knox Gardens Reserve, in Wantirna South, are some of the best in the Eastern suburbs and we pride ourselves in providing an enjoyable place for people to play cricket both on field and off.
The club had a very successful 2017/18 with our 1st XI just missing playing finals in Norm Reeves shield . Our 2nd XI won Back to Back Premierships in Division 3 , while our other 2 senior sides played finals also . Our under 17’s also enjoyed premiership success! Whilst our Veterans lost a hard fought grand final.
At Knox Gardens we accommodate players of all ages and all skill levels and all Junior Teams are coached by accredited coaches who also have "working with children" certification. The Knox Gardens Cricket Club caters for players from 4 years of age (Boys and Girls), in our Woolworths Cricket program... to Junior players on Friday Nights (U/10’s, U/12s, U/14s )... and Junior players on Saturday mornings (U/16’s)... through to Senior cricketers on Saturday afternoons (Two Day & Split Innings Teams)... plus field a Veterans team for over 38’s on every 2nd Sunday afternoon.
The club will be led by Club Coach and Life Member Daine Vernon and the 1st XI captain Peter Dunlop.

The club aims to foster a successful environment which caters to players of all abilities and focuses on player development. It is a club that welcomes players from all backgrounds and as a club prides itself on its culture, its facilities and its history. As a club we aim to develop players from our junior program that develop a love of the game of cricket, the Knox Gardens cricket club and strive to be the best players possible, at as high a level as possible.
As a club we understand that we are part of the local community in Knox and endeavour to form strong partnerships with all key stakeholders in the area. Our club provides a safe place for both males and females to not only enjoy sport, but to develop strong social relationships. We will continue to strive to provide an outstanding environment for our members both on and off field to be involved in.

The Knox Gardens Cricket Club will by any measure be acknowledged as the premier club in the Ferntree Gully District Cricket Association (FTGDCA). We will be admired for our on field success, strong values, inclusive culture and first class facilities.

The Knox gardens Cricket club will be seen as the preferred choice of club for local parents & players. We will provide a positive and enjoyable cricket experience for all, whilst developing players, people and strong partnerships in the community. | | Knox Gardens Strategic Plan | The clubs strategic plan for 2015-2018 has identified the following key area in helping us achieve our vision by 2018. The clubs strategic plan is constantly reviewed at a committee level and the club continues to strive to meet its current strategic aims.

Objectives
1 Community engagement and Partnerships Our aim is to collaborate with local community, all levels of government and other stakeholders in true collaboration to help the club continue to grow:
· Develop new sponsorship partnerships with local businesses in the area · Continue to build relationships with local schools and kindergartens · Continue to develop relationships with local government, the Knox Council and the FTGDCA · Working with key stake holders, increase engagement with a broader section of the local community, including striving to achieve an increase in club membership · Maintain, develop and promote the Knox Gardens brand, in particular through social media and the club website. · Uniform
2 Participation We aim to drive participation initiatives in new and existing market segments, with a major focus on junior development:
· Ensure the club has appropriate systems and initiatives in place to maximize player recruitment and retention from the local area. · Develop a strong presence and engagement in the Hazlecroft development. · Provide an inclusive, welcoming environment for all players and members. · Provide quality coaches across our junior program. · Provide outstanding social functions and community activities for our members. · Develop strong recruitment, retention and pathway strategies of volunteers · Build stronger links between the past and current members.
3 On-Field Success We aim to have sustained success on field across all levels of the club
· Consistently compete in finals across all grades. · Win the Norm Reeves Shield. · Develop players who consistently perform at a high standard across all grades. · Develop junior representative players and district cricketers. · Develop our current junior players into key players in our senior sides. · Create a culture of excellence in training, playing and club values
4 Infrastructure We will not be satisfied with our current position in regards to facilities. We will look to further develop our training, social and playing facilities:
· Upgrade the bottom nets. · Upgrade the bottom oval playing surface. · Working with our co tenants, improve the quality of our viewing areas and scoreboard. · Develop a sense of history through-out our club rooms. · Improve the comfort and usability of the social rooms.
5 Financial Management We will build the Knox Gardens brand to deliver revenue opportunities for the benefit of the club
· Continuing to build and promote the Knox Gardens brand to the wider community · Conducting ongoing reviews of the financial status of the Knox Gardens Cricket Club · Record an operating profit every year · Improve the viability and probability of functions and fundraising measures · Develop and implement new revenue streams · Continue to make playing at the club affordable | | Location | Our home ground, Knox Gardens Reserve, is on Argyle Way, Wantirna South (Map 72G2). Our club is also privilaged to have access to Llewellyn Park (accessed via George Street, near Eastlink bridge) as a fantastic second facility. Llewellyn Park is heavily used by our Junior club, and in Season 2010/2011 will be used by some senior sides again.
