The team is as follows:

Ben McLean: Deserved of his nickname ‘Run McLean’ Ben continues to excel at the top of the order. This time smoked 55 at a run a ball in the 3^rd XI helping to ensure a home final in the process. Will be looking for a fifth flag to go with his second competition batting average.

Niraj DeSilva: Quickly becoming known as a one day specialist young ‘Nudge’ is anything but as he helped himself to a smattering of boundaries in the 1^st XI win over The Basin. Smashed 72 runs which almost equals good friend Zach’s season tally (Sorry Flint).

Jarrod Butcher: Strode to the crease in a great situation after the team lost their first wicket at 121 and anchored his team to a great win with 38*. This ends a very consistent season for the 1^st XI skipper after his first season in charge.

Sam Bakker: After being out of favour with captain grumpy Andrew ‘TeaPotts’ Sammy applied himself in the 4’s with his best performance for the season. A hard hitting display smacking 58* to help propel the 4^th XI into the finals. Bowled in trying circumstances to restrict the opposition at the death to finish the job.

Justin Verrall: Bad strings came back after an injury plagued season and picked up where he left off nicking and nudging his way to 44 runs in an important innings for the 4^th XI. Will be looking for more of the same in the semi-final after a week wrapped in cotton wool.

Matthew Lambrick: A clutch performance from the ‘sandwich’ obliterating the Eildon Park bowlers in the dying overs to get the 3^rd XI over the line. Plundered 36 from just 24 rocks including a couple of big wallops over the fence to go with his tidy bowling figures.

Scott Christiansen: Probably unaccustomed to being this far down the order but this week was the pick of the bowlers in the 4^th XI. Literally almost bowled his arm off to concede just 18 runs off 7 overs including 2 important poles. Also hit 29 runs at the top of the order to see his average for the season fall by over 100 runs to a paltry 192…..  

Navinder Singh: White ball bowling specialist and remembered around the traps as being the fastest bowler in the country at the age of 12 (Nav’s words) Singlet produced a fine spell of slippery 6 step bowling to claim great figures of 8 overs 2/40 in the 1^st XI.

Zach Flintoff: Z-train was stopping all stations early before mainly running express through the middle to late order of The Basin batsmen. Always bowls in tricky circumstances and performed well claiming 3/48 off 8 finishing with the sixth most wickets in the Norm Reeves Shield a great season with the rock.

Ashley Hawkes: Returned to the 3^rd XI and bowled a tidy opening spell. Was extremely disappointed not being able to bowl more than 8 overs and at last check was still running laps around the school.

Adam Wild: The 1^st XI have had a great time opening their bowling innings with early wickets becoming the norm. This is mainly due to the tenacious Wilba who yet again put the opposition on the back foot early dismissing some of The Basin’s ‘best’ batsmen to end up with figures of 3/34.

 

12^th Man

Andrew Potts: One thing the selectors of this team don’t put up with is players nominating themselves to be included in this team, especially skippers. So for declaring himself a certain starter in the team after his anchor role in the 3^rd XI ‘TeaPotts’ finds himself carrying the drinks for this star stuttered line up.
