Andrew Potts was the toast of the Knox Gardens Cricket Club on Saturday night at the Rhys Marget Medal.

In a capacity crowd at the lovely Kingston Links GC Pottsie, as he is affectionately known as, ran away a convincing winner to claim the award by 5 votes.

Speaking exclusively with me at the after party an elated Andrew was extremely humbled by the win saying “I am very honored to win such a prestigious award. I have worked hard on my game and will continue to next year”. This was in stark contrast to what Andrew posted earlier in the evening stating on popular social networking site Facebook  “I am an absolute shoe in – just writing my acceptance speech”.

The post was later removed.

In all seriousness congratulations  to Andrew he has worked hard all year and I hope that higher honours await next season and beyond.
