Constant drizzle on Saturday 15th December meant that no play was possible, however there was still acheivements made by players in the prior week, such as John Mills with 99, Peter Webb 72 and Micheal Place 4/34.
The 1st XI stood a good chance of winning, batting second chasing 194, we were 2/34 from 9 overs overnight with a runout in the first over of our innings. Performers with the ball were Adam Wild with 3/46, and Jarrod Thorpe 3/29. 1st XI Scorecard
The 2nd XI were facing an uphill battle chasing Monbulk's 5/382 at Lewellyn, Sean Reid getting a baptism of fire as captain standing in for Jason Buljubasic. The 3rd XI batted well and piled on the biggest score of the season with 9/300. Stars with the bat were John Mills 99, Peter Webb 72, Bart Hoggett 31 & Crazy Rob Cottle 26. A 174 run partnership for the 2nd wicket between John Mills, Peter Webb (ret hurt) & Steve MacKinnon is also the biggest for this season. 3rd XI Scorecard
The 4th XI lost their round 9 battle with Knox, failing to get 184 batting second. Luke Perryman the only standout with the bat, scoring 38. New player Sandeep Reddy took 2/25 from 8 overs. 4th XI Scorecard
The 5th XI had a gutsy win by 9 runs over Upper Gully. Bat Artist Simon Wilkinson scoring 53* from just 17 balls, including 4 swings and misses. My team, Any Given Saturday, was the best performing team this week with 397 points, Hawksys Hacks placing 2nd.
Best player of the round was John Mills (2nd Time this season) with 99 points and Simon Wilkinson with 75 points.
The players ladder is tight with just 14 points separating the top 4 players, Wilba, Millsy, Slipper & Foxy.
