Some outrageous performances this week and some good performers miss out such was the class of this team!
Here is the team for this week:
Lachie Stuckey: Another team of the week for the man with the ordinary moustache. This time notching up another crisp 40 which took his season tally to over 300 runs but unfortunately couldn’t go on and get the big score he deserves! Hopefully it comes in the next 4, hopefully 5 weeks!
Josh Gregory: Promoted to open the batting in this side, Boof made an excellent 55 in partnership with the 1st XI skip chasing 290 where they scored at a fast clip with a match winning 121 run partnership.
Jarrod Butcher: Chasing 290, the 1's needed something special and the captain delivered scoring a massive 143* and steering the side to a much needed 7 wicket win to keep their finals hopes alive! Performance of the round!
Callum O'Connor: Back in the 2's after hitting some bombs at South Belgrave in the 3's. CJ brought the form with him with a classy and quick 70 before being unluckily stumped with 100 in sight. Heartbreaking💔
Hayden Morrison: The young man known as Dos is relishing the opportunity to bat up in the 2's this season and is in supreme form. Hit the gaps throughout his patient innings and scored freely when the team needed to and finished with amazingly his second ton of the season, 102*!!
Dylan Wylde: Coming in with 28 overs to go and a big score for the 2's on the cards Dyl took advantage with a big hitting 107* and in combination with Dos put the match beyond doubt with a partnership of 209 in 28 overs !
Sam Bakker: 90 not out for Baxter at Upwey on Saturday just narrowly missing out on a 3rd ton for the year! Looking in good form is Sammy and could he be a Rhys Marget medal smokey ?...
Mitch Gregory: Bowling pretty much unchanged for 21.2 overs Mitch tore the Johnson Park bathing line-up apart in the 2's racking up an insane career best figures of 6/69. Now a weapon with both bat and ball! but still not so much with the ladies! haha!
Josh McGowan: First game on the bottom oval and 'the king' enjoyed turning his leggies sideways on the brand new pitch taking his best ever haul of 4/45 off 22 overs which will please his close personal friend Daine
Drew Withers: This man keeps taking wickets! 25+ already with 2 games until finals. Mohammed Drewsouf is in fine form and is definitely a favourite for the Rhys Marget medal come the end of the season after taking another 3/14 off 8 overs in the 2's.
Adam Wild: Back into the 1's and another haul of 3fa for our club legend. Has he got another bag of tricks up his sleeve to sneak the 1st Xi into the finals?...
12th Man
Sean Reid: To much of his disgust Reidy will be mixing the fruit cup cordial this week in the TOTW after helping to get the 3's over the line comfortably with a Reidesque 66 not out.
