To all eligible members please be advised that the Annual General meeting of the Knox Gardens Cricket Club will be held at the clubrooms on Wednesday 21st of May from 7:45pm. This is your annual opportunity to help shape your clubs future and all eligible members and invited to attend.
Under the clubs existing : "statement of rules and purpose"(12/06/94) the AGM under section 4.1 shall be held during the month of May. The purpose of the AGM is for members to receive a report on the affairs of the club and be given an opportunity to be bought up to date with all activities.
At the AGM all offices are declared vacant and an election will be held for all positions. Under the clubs existing : "statement of rules and purpose"(12/06/94) only eligible (financial) Ordinary members ( 1 parent of a financial Junior player & Financial Senior players) and Life members shall be eligible to be elected to the committee and to have a vote.
People wishing to stand for a committee position having not previously been on the committee must be nominated and seconded by two eligible members and acknowledge their acceptance of that nomination to Ben McLean prior to the meeting and existing committee members (as long as they are eligible) may re-stand without nomination as long as they are willing to be nominated. The Executive may also take nominations at the meeting if deemed necessary by members present. A nomination form is available on the club website www.knoxgardenscc.com.au
In essence this means that any non financial and ineligible member shall not be allowed to stand for the committee in 2008/09 , nor have the right to vote.
The Executive positions to be filled are :
Chairman (President), Secretary, Treasurer and Junior Administrator. An uncapped number of general committee members may also be elected and subsequently delegated duties by the club executive.
Nominations and Business to be addressed at the meeting, under the clubs existing : "statement of rules and purpose"(12/06/94) must be sent to and received by Ben McLean by COB on May 11th which is 10 days prior to the AGM. Only eligible Ordinary members & Life members may submit nominations and business for discussion.
This notice is being posted on the clubs website 1 month prior to the meeting given that the AGM date was notified to members at the club Presentation Dinner on Saturday March 30th and having been published in the Annual report and on the Club website also since March 30th 2008. All eligible members are invited to attend.
